TYTHERINGTON-based runner Dan Studley produced an outstanding performance at the British Universities and Colleges Athletic Championships at Bedford last weekend to take the silver medal in the 1500m.
This is the Oxford Brookes University student's first senior national medal.
Studley opened on Saturday with a solid second place in the heats in a time of four minutes, two seconds.
He then stepped up on Sunday to record an excellent third place in the semi-final in a time of 3.52.
Studley then delivered a tremendous performance on Monday's finals day to take the silver medal in a time of 3.52, just failing to chase down Birmingham University student Adam Guillame, who originates from France.
However, Studley held off the challenge of Great Britain international James Thie, who settled for third place.
Studley hopes this successful start to the summer builds towards the England and British Championships, where will also be targeting the 1500m event.
