Wally Smith Cup Final U12s
Wotton Rovers 3 Abbeymead 0
WOTTON celebrated a league and cup double, and secured their 100 per cent record, with this fine victory over a resilient Abbeymead side.
Abbeymead started strongly, but were thwarted by keeper Sam Backx.
Wotton fought back and were rewarded when an incisive pass from Matthew Welch set up Kieran Davies for the first goal.
Abbeymead responded vigorously but Sam Morris, Harry Powell, Johnny Heywood and Denny Phillips were assured in defence.
Tenacious tackling from Haydon Brewer, Toby Harris and Joe Dicker allowed Korbin Walker to storm forward and score.
Ewan Hadfield and Harrison Brain came close before the lively Tom Cranwell secured the double with Wotton’s third.
