PAUL Owen has returned to Hallen for a second spell as manager.

Having only left the club a year ago due to work commitments, Owen has replaced Jamie Hillman, who resigned after a poor end to the season saw Hallen finish 15th in the Western League Premier Division.

A club statement said: "The club has acted quickly to fill the managerial position, and it will be a tonic for players and supporters to learn that Paul Owen has agreed to take on the position, a year after stepping down from the role.

"In his first spell he rescued the club from a relegation position, and then saw the club in a promotion bid, the following season.

"His last season in charge saw the team reach the Les Phillips Cup Final."
