County Triples Semi-Final

Gloucester City 25 Olveston 18

OLVESTON missed out on a place in the County Triples final after being beaten by Gloucester City at Barnwood BC.

The Gloucester City trio of Vince Wilks, Matt Curtis and Doug Lewis, up against Olveston's John Smallwood, Ian Gauld and Paul Bryant, were behind 8-7 after six ends before hitting a purple patch that saw five winning ends to take a 15-8 lead.

Olveston then hit back with a three and a four to trail 16-15 before a three and a four on consecutive ends gave City the edge in leading 23-15.

Despite dropping a three, they won the last end to reach the final with a double.

Both winners will now meet in the County Finals at Olveston on July 27 and will also represent the county at the National Championships at Leamington in August.
