SALLY Conway has revealed her delight after being named in the Scotland judo squad for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Originally from Thornbury, Conway qualifies for the hosts through residency after moving to Edinburgh as an 18-year-old to train full-time.

Now 25, the London 2012 Olympian is ranked number five in the world in the -70kg category and will head to Glasgow as one of Scotland's biggest hopes of a medal.

After her selection was announced, Conway said on Twitter: “I'm one happy girl! I've been selected to represent @Team_Scotland at the commonwealth games...Can't wait.”

The Commonwealth Games gets underway on July 23.
