Cam (88-7) beat Corse & Staunton (69-6) by 19 runs

CAM entertained Corse and Staunton on a newly prepared wicket.

Stand-in captain Ali Dixon lost the toss and Cam were put in to bat.

Charlie Pretty and Lucy Johnstone opened the batting but runs were slow to come by, with Pretty caught for two with 10 on the board.

Nicola Dickson joined Johnstone and the two of them held firm at the crease before the latter was caught for 16.

Jazz Gillingham, Becky Woodward and Isabel Tudor found the bowling difficult and were dismissed for two, one and nought respectively.

Dickson was eventually caught for 18.

Annette Swift made a very creditable 16 before she was run out, leaving Karis Longden (4*) and Helen Millard (0*) at the crease.

Pretty (1-7) took an early wicket in Corse's innings with seven on the board, Woodward taking a catch in close.

Wickets then began to fall, Janet Mansell (1-11) taking the next one.

The only resistance was from captain Helen Waytt, who temporarily steadied the ship, but she was caught and bowled by Gillingham (2-20).

Cam’s bowling and fielding was tight, and Corse finished up with 69 in their 20 overs.
