Kingsholm (108) lost to Frampton-on-Severn (217) by 109 runs

FRAMPTON played some excellent cricket in a very sporting contest to make it three consecutive wins at Kingsholm.

Playing his first game of the season, Lee Driver-Dickerson lost his opening partner Jason Huxstep in the third over to the pace of Sam Wheeler and Warren suffered the same fate for 14.

Paul Groves joined Driver-Dickerson in finding the boundary but fell to James Markey with the score on 66 in the 16th over.

The in- form Dan Huxstep needed to steady the ship and he and Driver-Dickerson soon had the home team on the back foot.

Driver-Dickerson was playing with growing confidence, taking Frampton past the 100 mark in the 28th over.

Russ Beacham and Ross Tominey were brought into the attack but by then the batsman were in full flow and heading for a great total.

Driver-Dickerson was stumped in the 39th over for a super 96 including 13 fours and two sixes.

Huxstep fell in the next over for a very useful 55 and then the collapse began.

Frampton lost their last five wickets for 13 runs but the damage was done and a competitive score was posted.

Markey was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 8-2-18-5.

Dan Huxstep then bowled a sublime spell, removing Shaun Uthup, Dan Hudson, John Veits and Ryan McGhee in a nine-over blitz for just 14 runs.

Craig Barnfield also found bowling a pleasure, taking 3-20 off his nine.

At 38-9 Kingsholm's cause looked lost but Russell Beacham and Ross Tominey had different ideas.

They batted for 20 overs and managed an excellent stand of 70 runs before Beacham finally succumbed to a caught and bowled by John Clements.
