FOREST Green boss Ady Pennock has landed his seventh summer signing by capturing former Exeter City and SalisburyCity  left-winger Elliott Frear on a two-year deal.

Highly-rated Frear, 23, will be reunited with former Salisbury team-mate Clovis Kamdjo, who joined Rovers this month.

Pennock has been keen to add a winger to his evolving squad and the left-sided England C player ticks all the boxes for his new manager, who is set to welcome his squad back to pre-season training on July 3.

Pennock said: “Elliott is a very good capture for us and he ticks all the boxes.

"He’s a young player with ambition, he’s got pace, and he can put a quality ball in the box.

"He had a very good season last year, picking up international caps at England ‘C’, so this is a great addition for us.”

The flying winger, who is currently on his honeymoon, is a firm friend of Rovers' James Norwood after playing together at Exeter City and more recently with England C.

Frear made 45 appearances for Salisbury City in all competitions last term, scoring six goals, and his impressive performances earned the winger a call up to the international ranks of England C.

A product of the Exeter City youth system, Frear made a big impression in a loan spell at Salisbury in the 2012/13 season and signed a permanent deal with The Whites in June of last year.
