THORNBURY Town will face a Bristol Rovers XI in a friendly for the second time in three seasons.

The Conference Premier club are expected to take a mix of senior and youth team players to the Mundy Playing Fields on Friday, July 11, which will be Thornbury's first pre-season fixture.

Rovers played the County League side in 2012 when they ran out 6-0 winners.

Training for Thornbury's firsts, reserves and under-18 sides commences at the ground on Thursday, June 26 from 7pm until 8.30pm.

The sessions will be run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from there onwards until and including Thursday, August 7, from which date training will only be on a Tuesday evening.

All past and new players are welcome to go along.

Thornbury are looking for a new physiotherapist to work alongside first team manager Andy Davies and the person will be required to be available at the majority of matches during the season.

Applications are also invited for the role of U18s Colts manager and assistant manager to run the team who play in the Bristol Combination League Northern Division.
