GLOUCESTERSHIRE gained an impressive 37-shot win over South Glamorgan at Barnwood when they won four of the six rinks.
Derek Severs, Ken Worsley, Trevor Graham and Jim Richie (all Olveston) held an 11-8 lead before dropping a five on the 15th end.
Battling back they then won the next six ends that included four twos and a three to win 23-13.
Leading the way were Jack Dempsey (EDF Energy), Stuart Dockree (Churchdown), Pete Langley and Dave Hopkins (both Pineholt), who against Rod Thomas took a commanding 14-2 lead that included a four and two threes.
Hitting a purple patch of five winning ends to lead 24-3, they lost five ends on the trot and finished up 26-12 winners.
Terry Edwards (Gloucester Spa), Bob Wakelin (Pineholt), Mike Giles (Dowty) and Clive Marcham (Chipping Campden) were 5-4 down before hitting a winning streak of eight ends to jump into a 17-5 lead and they went onto win 21-8.
Anthony Sharkey (Bristol Arrow), Bryan Fox (GB Britton), Colin Lavis and Martin Wilkes (both Cotswold), against Brian Stock, picked up a four on the fifth end to lead 7-2 and were never behind throughout.
A trio of threes on the 12th, 19th and 20th ends saw them gain a 22-12 win.
Jim Smith (Tewkesbury), Peter Bowles (Dowty), Stewart Minchin (Tewkesbury) and Campbell McColl had a thrilling tussle when looking to be heading for a big defeat.
Trailing 18-7 after 15 ends they then picked up a seven, a four and a three to jump into a 21-18 lead.
However, they were pipped on the last end and suffered a 22-21 defeat.
Bill Beedie, John Brain, (both Victory Park), Frank Hodder (Stroud) and Eddie Brain (Victory Park), up against Ron Davies, picked up two sixes to claw back from 9-3 and 15-11 down to lead 17-15 after 13 ends.
Six consecutive losing ends saw them end up with a 29-20 defeat.
