AFTER a successful first season in the Bristol Girls League, in which they finished fifth after a run of ten wins in 11 games, Wotton Rovers U11 Girls have started collecting silverware in the summer tournaments.

So far they have been semi-finalists in the U11 Portishead competition and also have reached three finals in U12 competitions against older girls.

This includes a tournament victory in the Abbeymead tournament in which Amy McCorkell was voted player of the tournament.

They were runners-up in their first ever tournament at St Nicks and also in a very competitive Quedgeley tournament – which included 10 teams – where they were narrowly beaten by opposition from the West Midlands in the final.

Wotton are looking for female players of all ages to get involved as the club expands its women's and girl's teams.

The club need lots of players to create some new teams, particularly girls currently in Year 7 as they look to start a new age group.

There is also a new women's team forming this season and Wotton are keen to get secondary school aged girls involved.
