KIERAN Slater helped the Great Britain recurve team that won a bronze medal at the World University Games in Legnica, Poland.
Stinchcombe-based archer Slater, who is a Bowmen of Minchinhampton member, teamed up with Ashe Morgan and George Harding to beat top seeds Korea in a shoot-off to secure third place.
After ranking tenth in qualification, Great Britain beat Slovenia 5-3 and then shocked second seeds Mexico in a quarter-final shootout, but missed out on a place in the gold medal match when they lost 6-2 to Italy.
In the individual eliminations, Slater was beaten 6-2 by Norway’s Jarl Aleksander Loekkebergoen.
