STINCHCOMBE Hill's senior section played away to Cotswold Edge GC in the second leg of the Two Hills Trophy.

Despite having a formidable lead from the first match, Stinchcombe were beaten by 5.5-1.5 matches, losing the trophy overall 7-6.

The Stinchcombe winners were the pair of Les Trinder and Chris Cooke (2&1) with Terry Munday and Geoff Reynolds halving.

Results from Saturday, July 5 Club medal – Division One: Tony Jones 73-10=63. 2nd Rob White 73-7=66 and 3rd Stan Lewis 80-10=70.

Division Two: David Clutterbuck 79-16=63. 2nd Richard Kendall 76-12=64 and 3rd Kedrick Davies 79-14-65.

Division Three: Derek Dedman 87-22=65. 2nd Les Jones 92-26=66 and 3rd Cliff Davies 86-20=66.

Stinchcombe's Captain's Day was held on Sunday, hosted by club captain Nigel Coyle.

The winner of the scratch can was Russell Workman with a gross 71, on count back from Andy Smith, who also carded 71.

The stableford competition was won by Workman with 44 points.

Nigel Hart, Andy Smith and Len Keating all finished on 39 points in second, third and fourth respectively.
