THE sun was shining on Theo White when he held his Captain’s Day.

There was a very good entry of men, ladies and juniors for the competition, and scoring was very good.

In Division One Neil Newman put his round together to score 39 points, followed by Terry Pearce with 37 points.

In Division Two Ross Casey scored 38 points to win, with David Ryan second with 37 points, and in Division Three Dick Coward scored an excellent 38 points to win, with Cliff Coles second with 37 points.

The ladies section was won by Gill Polley with 38 points, with Lyn Smart second on the same score, but beaten on the back six.

Cotswold Edge Seniors had a very successful Seniors Open, when scoring was very good.

Played as a pairs competition, the winners from Cotswold Edge were John Newns and Phil Hale with 48 points, followed by Dave Holliday and Mike Ward with 47 points.

Visiting pairs: 1st G Croker and N Wilson (Wells GC) 45pts, 2nd M Norris and T Birch (Orchard Leigh GC) 45pts.

The Am-Am was played on a sunny day, with 35 teams of four.

Scoring was exceptional with the winners The Stanley Boys notching up a score of 24 under, with a team from Bristol and Clifton 21 under.

The second leg of the Two Hills Trophy against Stinchcombe Hill was played for at Cotswold Edge and the hosts retained the cup, winning 5.5-1.5.

Cotswold Edge Ladies are doing very well in their Alliance League games.

They went to Cirencester and won 8-6, and the B team played Cirencester C team at the Edge and scored another whitewash, winning 14-0.
