Kingswood Village (152) lost to Lancaster Wanderers (254) by 102 runs

AT THE ninth attempt tourists, Lancaster Wanderers at last beat Kingswood thanks to a good all-round performance.

Batting first, the tourists were all out in the 38th over for a challenging 254, thanks to seven batsmen reaching double figures, led by Dom De Silva with 47.

For the hosts schoolboys Michael Barnes (3-53) and Ollie Niddrie (3-65) were the main wicket takers, the latter helped by a superb diving, rolling catch by 12-year-old Robbie Foxwell.

Wanderers, though happy with the total, were wary of previous high scores by Kingswood's skipper Kevin Morgan but got him out for a golden duck.

Though Jamie Moran (12), Rich Wilding (27), Ollie Madge (15), Mike Wilding (23), Steve Barnes (13) and Jacob Symanowski (11) got started, nobody went on. Tidy, penetrating spells from Gary Coulter (3-31), John Holcombe (2-33) and John Godfrey (2-22) stifled then snuffed out the innings at 152 in the 29th over, giving Wanderers their first win over Kingswood in nine years.
