DURSLEY Road Club tasted success closer to home when competing in the Bristol South Open 10 held on the local U7B course.

On a very warm, balmy day the club secured the first team prize with rides from Simon Williams, sixth in 21:49, Graeme Davis, 11th in 22:29, and Mike Davis, 12th in 22:31.

There were also strong rides from Sam Evans (24:06), Andy Muitt (24:17) and John Sirett (24:28).

Further afield, Philippa Crocker competed in the Ross-on-Wye 25 mile event to post a time of 1:18:21.

The Thursday evening Dursley Evening Series event was won this week by club member Billy Oliver with a time of 21:08.

Several personal bests were recorded, including Sam Evans (23:49), Felix Wilkinson (25:13), Nigel Burford (25:15), Steve White (25:51) and Kathryn White (30:39).
