DURSLEY'S Mark Brasier won the inaugural Tumpy Ten Race.

The event was held to raise money for the voluntary work at the Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre and improve facilities.

The race was just under 10k and run over the footpaths, bridleways and roads around Tumpey Green Centre and Slimbridge.

Dursley Running Club provided almost a third of the field and it was a good evening for the club with Brasier leading the way in a time of 41:44, beating Jon Goodland of Great Western Runners by 18 seconds.

Emma Denton finished fourth overall and first woman, while Dave Wood was first MV40, Neil Truelove first MV50, Margaret Johnson first FV40 and Nick Langridge, a second claim Dursley member, was first MV60 running for Thornbury RC.

The race saw a welcome return to racing for Trevor Lewis, who finished second MV60.

The club runs from Dursley Rugby Club on Tuesday nights. Meet at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.
