Yate Town 0 Bath City 2

YATE Town rounded off their pre-season campaign with a home defeat to Conference South side Bath City.

The Bluebells started brightly, though, and Lewis Haldane hit the bar after 15 minutes having already gone close once before.

City then hit the woodwork twice themselves as they started to get on top, former Almondsbury Town winger Ross Stern striking against the bar and post in quick succession.

The visitors took the lead in the 26th minute when Sekani Simpson’s powerful strike deflected off Liam Knight and went into the net.

Although Yate made a decent start to the second half, Bath doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Dave Pratt went round two defenders before squaring for Stearn to convert.

Yate Town: Reed, Tippins, Staley, Chandler, Warren, Lewis, Knight, Evans, Jackson, Haldane, Ricketts. Subs: Rodgers, Guest, Perry, Harmer, Fletcher, Harrison.

Referee: Mr. T Wood.
