THORNBURY'S Seniors Championship was played in blustery conditions over 36 holes.

In a close run competition Andrew Carter won the Championship with 170 strokes gross, beating 2013 winner John Warren by one stroke with vice-captain Brian McCarthy coming in third.

The nett competition for the Seniors Cup was won by Terry Gregory with 138 strokes, followed by Terry Burchell in second and Alan Knapp third.

Thanks were given to organisers Ralph Hawker and Ian Payne and to Thornbury Golf Centre for the excellent condition of the course.
