LEADERS Geriatrics took on Snorts FC in week 13 of the Slimbridge Front Pin Summer Skittles League League.

In a testing first half in which no spares were scored, the former led for the majority of the game, however Snorts FC came strong in the end, taking a four-pin advantage into the final leg, which they extended to 15 pins by the end of the half.

The second half saw Rich Fry commence with a 12-spare for Snorts FC as they extended their lead further; however the Geriatrics fought back, Len Holder hitting a 14-spare in his total of 57; whilst Clarence O Conner contributed with a 13-spare.

Richard Fry hit his second spare of the night, recording a score of 13 in his total of 65 as he kept Snorts FC in the game.

Entering the final leg, the Geriatrics held an 18-pin advantage, leading by three pins on the game; however a 26-leg was enough to see Snorts pull back six pins to take victory by three pins.

The Dons played their final game of the season against Slimbridge RBL and picked up a five-pin victory.

In a close first half Samantha Tarr scored 49 for Slimbridge RBL as they won by eight pins.

The second half saw a stronger performance from The Dons as they raced away from the start, Mark Stamp recording a 12-spare and Darren Noble hitting 55 as they won the half by 59 pins to pick up four points.

Shake Hands moved into third after they recorded their seventh victory of the season, defeating the winless Breezers by 141 pins.

The former dominated the game with Martin Livall hitting a 13-spare in his 61 as they opened up a 109-pin first half advantage; Alan Hatch doing his best to respond for the Breezers with 31.

The former were more competitive in the second half and led for the first two legs; Steve Bishop hitting 55 and Rob Green 42.

However, once Shake Hands wrestled the lead they remained ahead; Peter Dykes scoring a 12-spare as they extended their advantage by 32 pins.
