GLOUCESTERSHIRE chief executive Will Brown could not hide his disappointment after the One-Day International between England and India at the County Ground in Bristol on Monday was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.
The club was hosting its first ODI since building a new pavilion and Mound Stand, and is not due to hold another until international match until 2016.
Brown said: "It's a sad day. We haven't had any internationals for three years because we've been having a redevelopment with a view to hosting more internationals, so it's very disappointing.
"We will lose money. We're insured for the ticket sales, but not for things like beer sales. People made the call that they'd stay at home, so everything was at a slightly lower level than we'd hoped."
