FRAMPTON Cotterell secured promotion from the Bristol & District League Second Division on Saturday when they beat Pakistani Express by 66 runs at home.

After being put into bat, quick half-centuries from Tim Mason (55 off 35 balls), Luke Baker (69 off 62 balls) and Ash Oldacre (51 off 34 balls), helped Frampton score a commanding 288-8 off 45 overs.

George Foulger then took 3-44 and ran out key batsman Sohail Ahmad (73) as they bowled the visitors out for 222.

Frampton are now locked in a battle for the title with Bohemians, who are six points ahead of them, and visit bottom side Abbots Leigh on Saturday with a maximum 30 points up for grabs.

Pucklechurch (183 all out) were relegated from the same division after going down by 44 runs at home to Abbots Leigh (227 all out).

Winterbourne thirds will be crowned Division Five champions after they won by seven wickets at Hallen.

Clive Blackwell took 5-15 as the hosts were bowled out for 101, which Winterbourne chased down in 28.2 overs.

Alveston have been relegated from Division 11 after they were unable to raise a side for the short trip to Frampton Cotterell thirds, joining bottom side Hallen seconds, who lost by 38 runs at Stoke Gifford.
