Stroud Football League Division Two
Tibberton 1 Charfield 3
CHARFIELD visited Tibberton for their first game of the season and came away with a well-deserved win.
After an even first 15 minutes, Charfield had a goal disallowed for offside, and with Nathan Vines, Ian Lyon, Joel Stoneman and Simon Miles all going close Tibberton took the lead on the half-hour.
With the first half coming to an end an excellent through ball by Zach McAllister found Vines, who crossed for Stoneman to score.
With Tibberton replacing their goalkeeper at half-time, a free kick was awarded on the edge of the penalty area for Charfield within five minutes.
Up stepped Miles to smash home the ball with the keeper standing behind the wall.
With constant Charfield pressure generated by Phil Miles and McAllister in the second half, they finally scored their third when Liam Wood hit a perfect 40-yard cross-field pass to pick out Vines, who scored easily with the keeper rushing out of his goal.
