IN DIVISION One, Dave Reeves was the top man for Thornbury A, winning all his sets against visiting Yate. Harry Gwilliam and Len Vowles scored two each to complete the scoring for Thornbury, who won 7-3.

Will Berkley secured two singles points for Yate before teaming up with Andy Cox to win a tight doubles in five.

Thornbury C took three points from their Division Two match with Nailsworth A thanks to Kim Morris with a brace and another win for Len Pattison.

The visitors' points came as a result of an unbeaten night for Alan Welsh, two for Dave Pugh and a single win for Alan Wheeler.

Pugh and Alan Welsh won the doubles to complete a 7-3 win.

Frampton B are the early division favourites, dropping their first point of the season on their visit to Thornbury B.

Dave Pearce, along with Ollie and Simon Philp, won all their singles.

Simon Philp went to five in all his sets so couldn’t manage the doubles, which were won by Simon Lewis and Gavin Rogers, salvaging a point for Thornbury.

In Division Three, Cam A's Steve Partridge again made the difference in a closely fought match at Frampton C.

The home pair of Brian Cullis and Alan Perratt each won two, but with Partridge unbeaten and singles wins for Paul Stewart and Bob Wild, Partridge and Steward combined to win the doubles and seal Cam's 6-4 win.

Cam B travelled to Whiteshill B but only Harry Presscott scored points for the visitors with a brace.

Chris Varley scored a maximum for the home team and Chris Lardner and Terry Jordan each scored two before the two Chris’ won the doubles for a final result of 8-2.

andwick D entertained Cam C in Division Four and young Marcus Holba won all three for the home side.

Mary Holba won another and David Perry scored two more before teaming up with Holba to win a hard-fought doubles in five.

All the visitors got on the scoresheet as Nigel Meredith, Bev Browning and Tony Powell won a set apiece, but Cam lost 7-3.
