Northern Senior League Division One

Wotton Rovers 4 Quedgeley 0

WOTTON maintained their 100 per cent winning record at fortress Synwell against Quedgeley Wanderers.

The hosts started well and the central midfield pairing of Asa Cox and Ben Smith started to dictate play.

Wotton broke the deadlock when Declan Frost rose highest in the box to win a header and follow in to score the rebound.

They went further ahead when wing wizard Cameron Pring got his first after a lovely turn and powerful shot into the far corner of the net.

The away team started to get back into the game and Eddie Hanbury in the Wotton goal and the back four of Simon Graham, Jonny Rosser, Kris Williams and man of the match Gazza Pedley were made to work hard to keep a clean sheet.

After a spell of pressure in the Wotton box the ball fell to Smith, who looked up and spotted Pring on the opposite wing. A delectable cross field ball was cushioned beautifully by Pring before beating the last defender and lifting the ball over the onrushing keeper to send the Synwell faithful wild.

The second half was a more comfortable one for Wotton and they could have gone further ahead with chances for Pring, Declan Frost and Lee Williams.

It was Williams who sealed the win after he bravely threw himself at the ball to make it 4-0.

Star Man: Gareth Pedley.
