SO CITY’S class of 2014 have set a club record for going 14 games unbeaten from the start of the season.

It’s a wonderful achievement but now the hard work really starts in a bid to be remembered as a team that wins the league in style as well.

Defensively they often look fragile and I always feel we have to get our equaliser in first as it’s rare we keep a clean sheet.

Coasting at half-time against Coventry with a two-goal advantage, we allowed the home team back in the game and the late goal from Scott Wagstaff to secure the 3-1 win disguised what a close call it was at times.

City play such entertaining free flowing football the other side always has a chance and that what is making it such great value to watch them.

The team spirit is there for all to see. The work rate from Wade Elliott, Luke Freeman and Joe Bryan tires me out just watching them.

In Aden Flint we have a rock at the back but as the wing backs go forward and often with five or more in the opposition box it’s no wonder we look exposed to a counter attack.

We’re going to score one more than you applies perfectly to this squad and long may it continue.

Bradford deserved their point on Tuesday.

City had some tired legs out there and Steve Cotterill may have to rest three or four of them this week at Barnsley.

Every team we face now is gunning for us and Saturday’s trip north will be a tough test of the unbeaten run.

Marlon Pack deserves to keep his place. Having come in for the injured Korey Smith, he has grabbed his chance, scoring the opening goal against Coventry.

City have quality in reserve and that’s why I feel optimistic that the class of 2014 could be the champions come next May.

The run will end one day. On the horizon is a Preston team that are stringing wins together.

That’s for a few weeks’ time but I think we will return with at least a point from Yorkshire on Saturday.
