Frampton Cotterell U11s 26 Dursley U11s 28

DURSLEY travelled away to Frampton Cotterell for their first competitive fixture of the season.

Three players from Dursley volunteered to help the home team by playing for them due to their low numbers.

With the help of Callum Ellis and Rowan Harrell playing in the centre of the field, Frampton scored the first try and kicked the conversion to take the early lead.

From the restart several good passages of play saw Dursley putting pressure on the home team, finished off with an impressive maul drive to see Dursley scoring the try.

Jamie Stacey, in his first game as full back, stepped up and converted to bring the game level.

Dursley continued to apply pressure from the restart and were rewarded with another try scored by Perys Munns, with the kick converted to give them a 14-7 lead.

Frampton returned the pressure and were rewarded with a breakaway from a scrum to score a try, with another good kick levelling the scores.

A strong Dursley scrum released Jamie Thornton to cut through the opposition with some very fast foot work to score, with another strong conversion, to move ahead again at half-time.

Frampton came out strong at the start of the second half and made ground quickly with a try but missed the conversion.

The hosts kept up the pressure and were rewarded again, scoring another try and kicking the conversion to take a five-point lead moving into the last 10 minutes.

Prolonged periods of pressure from Dursley saw another try from Thornton, bringing the score level.

A clean accurate conversion by Stacey saw Dursley back in front by two points and they held on.
