INDOOR bowls is set to return to Yate Leisure Centre.

Although there is no opportunity for the long mat sport, there is a chance to play the short mat version due to portable playing surfaces and a taster session is planned for Tuesday, November 25 in the main sports hall from 10am until midday.

Yate Indoor Bowls Club were evicted from Yate Leisure Centre in 2012 when managers the Circadian Trust agreed to allow King Edmund Acrogmnastics Club to lease the hall instead.

The leisure centre want to explore if there will be sufficient interest to provide regular opportunities for individuals or groups of clubs to play this sport, which is suitable for all ages, abilities or experience.

Anyone who is interested in trying this sport will be welcomed with experienced and qualified coaches on hand.

A stock of bowls will be available to use and further information can be obtained from Yate Leisure Centre front desk or Barry Banwell on 01454 310061.
