THE SUN continued to shine on Cotswold Edge Golf Club last week when the seniors retained the Two Hills Trophy at home to Stinchcombe Hill, winning 4 1-2 to 1 1-2.
And the 'Am  Am' competition was well-supported on the hottest day of the week with 36 teams competing in a strokeplay competition, with the two best scores  counting.  The winners were Kensies Babbers who shot an impressive 29 under par nett 113 followed by Pendragon Peddlers on 117.
Then came the Lucky Ones on 119,  Captain’s Consorts 123, Dough Makers 123, Thornbury Tyres 123 and the One Under 60 team with 124.
* Several ladies competed in the Coronation Medal at Chipping Sodbury where Jane Barrett carded a nett 74 to win the Silver Medal in Division One.
The Ladies Alliance Two were also successful at home winning 12–2 against Lilley Brook.
The Alliance One were not so fortunate at Cirencester losing 10–4.
The Ladies Medal competition was hampered by torrential rain resulting in several non-returns.
However rain certainly did not stop play for Maria Sheppard who won with an impressive nett 68 from Mel Lee 76 and Jan Pemberton-James 76.
The Stragglers match against Filton luckily missed the rain and saw the home team win 3–2 whilst the NGFL team welcomed Cleeve Cloud resulting in a 3–3 draw.
The Rushmire Vase stableford competition, where playing partner pairs are drawn, was won by Cotswold Edge captain John Barrett and partner Martin Cutts with 43 points.
Ian Farrer and Rich Beale were second on 39 points and Gary Viney and Dave Waring came third on 37 points.
