DAN Anderson produced another blistering display to come home in second place at the Devil's Chimney Chase in Cheltenham on Saturday.
Dursley Running Club ace Anderson described the run on Cheltenham's Leckhampton Hill as 'a challenging 'almost' 10k run' in beautiful scenery in the Cotswolds.
But he was more concentrated on the result than the countryside when the race came to its' climax and came home in a time of 36.02mins.
And that was not all as Dursley athlete Alice Lewis continued her own excellent form, placing second in her age group category of LV55. Lewis crossed the line in 50.31mins.
Other Dursley athletes took to the park run scene, with Sara Eden giving the Gloucester event a go.
And it worked out well for Eden as she got another personal best at Saturday’s race in a time of 30.44mins.
She was pleased to have made the effort and now has her sights set on a sub-30mins time.
Meanwhile, Hannah Darton did her first park run on Saturday at Chipping Sodbury. She posted a time of 24.22mins, which gave her a sixth place in her category.
The second in Dursley Running Club’s members-only handicap series took place last Tuesday at Hamfields Leisure Centre.
Runners are handicapped according to previous 5K times, with the aim that everyone should be racing at the end to cross the line.
Newer runner Cara Zoglowek was first home in 47.03mins. She was more than one minute separating her from the next home, Neil Hodgson, who posted the fastest actual time of the night with 21.23mins but was well behind Zoglowek on the handicap.
Kim Bird was the fastest women of the night, with 25.22mins, pipping Rebecca Topham by a mere three seconds.
The final two members-only Handicap races will be held on the second Tuesdays of August and September.
Dursley Running club runs from Dursley Rugby Club on Tuesday nights, with a wide range of groups to cater for all paces with other runs organised in the week.
Meet at 6.15 for a 6.30 start.
In British Summer Time, a number of groups move to off-road running with some entry level groups continuing road running.
