THE female half of Team GB were the best-placed team in the 10km time trial in last week’s European Youth Olympics held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Somerset-based Giant CC Halo Films rider, Lauren Dolan, 15, took bronze, closely followed by her GB teammates, rising Welsh star Jessica Roberts, 16, in 5th place and local Berkeley-based Castle School student, Pfeiffer Georgi, 14, was placed 6th.
In soaring temperatures reaching the late 30s, the girls competed against 69 riders from 37 countries.
Back in the UK, Etienne Georgi, 16, achieved a top-10 place in his latest National Series Junior Road Race held near Milton Keynes, which sees him continuing to lead the series with two rounds left.
Not to be outshone by the youngest members of the Giant CC Halo Films club, Frenchay-based Chris Davis posted a new record for 60 to 69 year olds on Severn Road Club’s 10-mile time trial course near Aust with a time of 22 minutes 27 seconds.
