IT was medal week at Cotswold Edge Golf Club with all sections competing and returning some impressive under par scores.
The Neville Young Trophy was also played for in the Senior Medal and was won by Pete Skinner with nett 62.  
Scores: Division 1: Richard Rogers nett 68, John Barrett 69 and Tom Baird 71; Division 2: Pete Skinner 62, John Stuart 72 & Paul Holland 73.  
The Seniors were less fortunate in their friendly matches losing 4–2 at home to Lansdown and 4.5–1.5 away to Gloucester.
Arthur Spencer continued his good form in the the Men’s Medal and was rewarded with his handicap being reduced with an exceptional score reduction.  
Scores: Division 1: Simon Craker 65, Vernon Chappell 69 and James Page 71; Division 2: Arthur Spencer 65, Terry Thornell 68 and Charlie Gale 70; Division 3: Brendan Turbitt 67, Robert Oakley 73 and Jon Anderson 73.  
The Ladies Medal was won by Sue Freeland with nett 72 followed by Lyn Smart 73 and Maria Sheppard 75.  
The Margaret Timothy Vets Trophy stableford competition was won by Jessie Goodbrand with 37 points followed by Mel Lee 36 and Lyn Smart 29.  
The Alliance 1 team came up against stiff opposition from Minchinhampton New losing at home whilst the Alliance 2 team drew 7–7 to visitors Brickhampton.  
The Trio Trophy strokeplay competition, where teams of three (two men and a lady drawn for partners) compete in a Texas Scramble format was won by Simon Craker, Wayne Parsons and Pat Waring with a nett 52.75 followed by Keith Stokes, Richard Beale and Janet Duberley 54 and Chris Sheppard, Peter Martin and Hannah Brown-Pearce 56. 
The Mixed Open greensomes competition has been re-scheduled for Sunday October 4 after becoming a victim of the bad weather in July.  
The competition is open to both members and visitors with prizes for gross, nett and stableford scores and a two course meal is available afterwards.
