GFA (North) Senior Amateur Cup
Round One
Berkeley Town 0 Dursley Town 3

BRUNO Goncalves added a brace to Jay Redbond’s opening strike as cup specialists Dursley delivered another knockout blow away from their struggles in the league.
Yet to earn a league point, the men from the Rec nevertheless won three games on their way to a Reg Davis Cup semi-final and have now taken victory in this County Cup derby.
Berkeley pinned the visitors into their own half early on, forcing a number of corners, while skipper Tom Palmer saw a drive pushed away by Keith Watson.
However, it was the away side that took the lead on the half-hour when a three-man move down the right saw wing-back Redbond fire the ball into the net at the far post.
The visitors doubled their advantage on the hour when Maz Meta turned a long ball from Martin Booth into the path of Goncalves and he fired low across the goalkeeper.
Sam Strickland forced Watson into an unorthodox stop, but on the whole Berkeley got little change out of visiting defenders Steve Hobbs, Chris Wilkins and Matt Workman.
Goncalves settled matters ten minutes from time when a comical swing-and-a-miss from the home goalkeeper allowed the Dursley forward to walk the ball into the net.
Berkeley’s luck was summed up late on when a shot heading into the net during a melee hit another home player a couple of yards out and deflected away off the post.
Dursley: K Watson; S Hobbs, C Wilkins, M Workman; J Dolbear (A Griffith 85), M Booth, J Woodward, J Redbond (J Warner 81); C Mills; M Meta (J Ellis 81), B Goncalves.
* Dursley Reserves lost their Stroud Charity Cup tie 6-2 at home to Eastcombe.
Paul Cook and Chris Hyam scored for the hosts.
* Dursley were once again unable to raise a third team, this time scratching from their scheduled GFA (North) Minor Cup round one tie at home to Leonard Stanley  Reserves.
