Wotton Rovers Under 14, 1 Whitchurch under 14, 2
A sunny Sunday saw Wotton strive hard against a determined opposition, but to no avail.
Whitchurch started brightly, but Wotton's defense of Danny Philips in goal, Sam Morris, Harry Powell, Harrison Brain and the ever dependable Jonney Hayward held firm. Wotton took advantage of the visitors forward play and opened the scoring with a fine lob from Korbin Walker.
Scenting blood, Wotton piled forward with good passing and probing runs from the midfield of Ewan Hayward, Eddie Hawkins, Matthew Welch and Hayden Brewer. However, the Visitors capitalised on space at the back and hit back twice before half time.
Wotton pressed hard for the equaliser, relentlessly challenging Whitchurch, and came close through the energetic Jack Thompson, Harvey Butler and Tom Cranwell but the team's hard work was not rewarded.
