Thornbury Town 1 Gala Wilton 2
IT was a disappointing result for Thornbury Town at home to Gala Wilton in the Gloucestershire County League.
Town gifted Gala the opening goal on 14 minutes when a simple looking cross was dropped by home keeper Alex Lippiatt and it dropped to the feet of Mark Mason who had a simple task of knocking the ball into the net.
Thornbury gathered themselves from that early shock and levelled the score on 35 minutes when centre back Joe Guest picked the ball up just inside hiss own half surged forward and unleashed a low shot that beat the visitor keeper.
The game looked to be heading for draw until the 75th minute when Gala were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box which was very firmly struck by Adam Hemming the shot penetrating the wall and flying into the bottom corner.
