Former England defender Stuart Pearce is coming out of retirement and signing for Longford AFC, currently bottom of Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two.
The ex-Nottingham Forest hero and former Manchester City boss has been drafted in to help 'fix' the confidence and fortunes of Longford AFC, 'the worst team in England', with the support of Direct Line.
The Gloucestershire minnows have lost all 18 games this season, scoring one goal and letting in 179.
Pearce could make his debut at Winchcome Town on Saturday.
