YATE Town Football Club have appointed Paul Britton as their new first team manager after the resignation of Craig Laird in March.
Applications for the job closed a week on Monday and Britton now takes over from interim player-manager Darren Edwards, who took the reins following Laird's departure.
Ex-Bitton and Longwell Sports manager Britton, also known as Polly, is a former Bristol Rovers Under-15 coach and holds a UEFA B coaching licence. He is also well known around the South West non-league scene.
A statement from the club said: "Yate Town chairman Colin Pick emphasised the need to get back to basics, and Polly was chosen as the correct person to take the club forward in a way where he can build upon the tremendous success our under 18’s have achieved so far this season.
"Colin Pick also stated the importance of December 2018 as an important date in Yate's future in which we need to save up funds for the purchase of Lodge Road stadium."
