Kingswood 3 Gala Wilton 2

KINGSWOOD have managed the great escape with another home win this time at the expense of Gala Wilton. Kingswood, who looked doomed for most of the season, sparked a revival a few weeks ago and are now fourth from bottom and clear of finishing in the lowest position this season.

After suffering a 6-0 beating at Frampton United last Tuesday, it was back to business at home to Gala Wilton in a five-goal thriller that Kingswood won by the odd goal.

They took the lead on 19 minutes when Ryan Mudd pulled the ball back for Josh Stokes to drive home. Gala levelled the score on 59 minutes when Martin Smith bundled the ball home. Kingswood’s second on 65 minutes came direct from a Callum McManus corner, but 3 minutes later Gala drew level again with a second goal from Martin Smith.

The winner for the home side in the 81st minute came from a long ball pumped up field by keeper Chris Fox, Ryan Mudd challenged the keeper to the ball which he fumbled and Archie Bennett had the simple task of firing into an empty net.
