DURSLEY schoolboy Daniel Fox recently represented Rednock School at the British Schools Judo event.
The event held in Sheffield was attended by around 750 competitors from around the UK.
Competing in the under-73kg cadet section, Fox won all four of his early-round bouts by a maximum (ippon) score.
In the final, Fox faced a very strong, experienced player and although accounting well of himself, had to settle for a well-earned second-place silver.
Fox has been training hard for the last few years and is now one of five Stroud Judo Club members regularly attending elite training sessions around the country.
