The Seniors have been enjoying their travels recently drawing 3.5 – 3.5 away at Shirehampton and winning 4 – 3 at Cirencester. Bank Holiday Monday saw men and ladies compete for Tombstone trophies in their respective divisions – a strokeplay competition where competitors hit par plus their handicap and leave a marker where they finish.

Gary Merchant managed to finish alongside the first green (second time around!) followed by Roger Fay and Simon Craker, Lyn Smart reached the farthest point for the ladies hotly pursued by Casey Chappell and Gill Polley. Lyn Smart continued her good form to win the combined Vets Millennium Trophy & Stableford competition with 35 points winning on count back from Catherine Beale 35 & Pat Waring 34.

Sandra Cutts returned an impressive back nine score to win the Ann Candy Plate stableford competition on count back with 34 points from Sue Reid 34 and Julie Cruickshank 31.

The competition was played over two alternate dates to allow working ladies to take part. The Ladies Friendly team enjoyed their visit to Westonbirt on a lovely sunny day drawing 2 – 2.
