CYCLING ace Pfeiffer Georgi was second in the British Cycling Youth National Series race on the Isle of Man, winning the stage race over the three-day event.

The Sleepwell Hotels Isle of Man Youth Tour started on the promenade in Douglas for the prologue time trial.

The Under-16 Girls were pretty closely matched with Anna Docherty, of Clifton CC, came out on top in 1:56hours with Castle School student Georgi three seconds behind.

The second stage hilly circuit at Ellerslie, however, saw Georgi dominate with a solo win, crossing the line 1.19mins ahead of third-placed Lucy Horrocks.

The result left Georgi eight seconds clear of Elynor Backstedt, daughter of Tour de France stage winner Magnus Backstedt, on the general classification overall standings.

The final stage saw Georgi and Backstedt locked together for the whole of the points race in Ramsay,with Georgi taking seven points and Backstedt eight which ended with Georgi getting second overall.

Georgi also won the second round of the track Ominium Series which took place in Reading.
