THE LADIES section of Cotswold Edge Golf Club welcomed visitors from local clubs for their Ladies Open recently. And that saw a three-team Bowmaker competition with two scores to count on each hole.

They were followed by home teams Jacki Emerson, Lyn Smart and Lin Cocking 83 and Julie Paulette, Kay Clark and Debbie Pringle 80. The next best Cotswold Edge team were Caroline Stokes, Trish Stokes and Sue Freeland.

Meanwhile, Ali Buncher and Hannah Brown-Pearce scored an impressive 45 points to win the Pin Four Ball Betterball pairs competition which has put them in with a chance of a big appearance as they now have to wait to see if they qualify for the finals at Gainsborough Golf Club in September.

The runners up were Jane Barrett and Debbie Pringle 40 followed by Julie Cruickshank and Angela Ryan 36. Both Ladies Alliance teams did well this week winning their respective matches – the first team won 9–5 away to Naunton Down whilst the second team won with a huge and impressive 14–0 whitewash of Naunton Down 2 at home.
