CASTLE School, Thornbury, siblings Etienne and Pfeiffer Georgi have proved that hills are their forte, with Etienne securing a great victory among the big mountains recently.

Etienne took the prestigious Junior Tour Of Scotland, which is one of the biggest junior stage race events in the country.

And sister Pfeiffer added her own piece of family glory by triumphing in the North West Youth Tour.

Held over three stages, Etienne, 17, was riding for the Giant CC Halo Films team and made the decisive moves on the second hilly road stage of the Junior Tour Of Scotland to take the hilltop finish and gain a substantial advantage over the main peloton of eighty riders.

With strong team riding in the final third stage of the event, Etienne closed a near three minute gap on the breakaway lead group, to retain his first position overall at the end of the Tour.

Meanwhile, his sister Pfeiffer showed a similar display of hill climbing ability in the second stage of the North West Youth Tour, where she secured a commanding victory in the ten-lap hilly circuit.

There, she split the field of sixty girls in the Tour to produce a solo win.

Held over four stages, Pfeiffer, 15, riding for Liv CC Epic Coaching, gained second and fourth in the final two sprinters’ stages and held onto the overall win.

She then demonstrated her prowess at city centre circuit riding the following weekend, taking wins in both the Under 16 Girls’ and Elite Women’s races, becoming the South Region Circuit Race champion in both categories.
