FOREST GREEN Rovers can look forward to four home matches in August after their Vanarama National League fixtures for the new season were revealed yesterday.

Manager Mark Cooper’s men will open up with a trip to Boreham Wood, who finished last season in 19th place, on Saturday August 6 before taking on promoted Sutton United, who won the National League South in May, on Tuesday August 9.

They will also play Gateshead at The New Lawn the following Saturday and face other home dates against York City (August 20) and Southport on Bank Holiday Monday.

Forest Green have a festive season double-header with Torquay United, with the away game on Boxing Day and the return on New Year’s Day.

They end the season on April 29 with the return match at York which, by then, Cooper will hope they have secured automatic promotion to the Football League.
