THE ROCKHAMPTON Fun Run took place last Thursday and saw some great running from Dursley Running Club’s athletes.

The course is just over four miles with some off road and the rest on lanes.

The race was won by veteran Rob Cowland in a quick time of 23:19mins.

First in for Dursley was Tom Smith running an excellent 26:17mins to place sixth.

Charlie Strickland was third woman overall, and second senior woman.

Garry Strickland was fourth male vet. home and Kris Rymer was pleased with his first ever top 20 finish.

Results: Tom Smith 6th 26:10; Garry Strickland 13th 28:42; Kris Rymer 20th 31:42; Charlie Strickland 27th (2nd SenW) and 3rd woman overall Kingsway parkrun saw Dursley RC led home by Joe Ball, three seconds off his personal best, behind Ball Margaret Johnson knocked almost half a minute off her PB with a 22:31mins run and 74.46 per cent age grade result.

Also achieving PBs were Charlotte Palmer, Nicki Squire, Julie Fenn and Lisa Giloolly.

Sara Eden returned to parkrun after a serious injury and Sam Stevens and Tracey Goodwin were first timers.

Dursley junior athletes Cormac and Aoife Johnson recorded 24:29mins and 26:33mins respectively with Cormac running PB. The inaugural Stonehouse parkrun saw John Delafield putting in a great run to come home first for DRC in 21:29mins, second VM50.

Dursley RC returned to Huntingdon with Janet leading Anthony Mathews home to place third SW35.

Pitts was an excellent third overall with Young 20th and Thraves 23rd. Tara Truman completed the Nottingham Outlaw Ironman event (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run) and placing 5th in AG and 16th woman in 11 hours and 58 minutes.

Vicci Philips finished 118th in the Bath Long Half off road competition.
