THE SUN shone brightly at Cotswold Edge Golf Club for the Senior Captain’s Fellowship Trophy recently, a stableford competition for past senior Captains with a meal afterwards.

Theo White took the honours with 40 points followed by Graham Bartlett 35 and David Ryan 32. The Seniors friendly team paid host to The Bristol drawing 3.5 – 3.5 and to Shirehampton winning 6 – 1.

Roy Hirst won the August Midweek Medal with a 3 shot under par score of nett 68 score ahead of Rob Rennicks 70 and Pete Greatbach 71.

The men’s NGFL team came up against stiff opposition at Gloucester with the hosts claiming victory 5 – 1.

The Ladies Mercia Castle Cup, a county stableford competition which is played at individual clubs in August and the two division winners are whoever return the overall best scores.

Several impressive scores were returned at Cotswold Edge, headed by Janet Duberley with 41 points and Mel Lee 38 and they wait to see how their scores compare with other clubs entries.

Mel Lee and partner Tina Lewis did extremely well winning on the 18th away at Rodway in a very close match in the quarter finals of the County Greensomes competition and now await to see who their semi final opponents will be.

The Ladies Alliance 1 team are celebrating two good home victories against Minchinhampton New 3 and Burford winning 10 – 4 and 12 – 2 respectively.

The Ladies friendly team enjoyed their visit to Chipping Sodbury winning 3 – 2 on the day and halved their match at home against Minchinhampton New 4 – 4.
