FOREST GREEN manager Mark Cooper was baffled by the decision-making of referee David Rock after assistant Scott Lindsey was sent to the stands during Rovers' draw with Eastleigh.

Lindsey had been involved in a war of words with Eastleigh midfielder Andy Drury, who reacted to a tackle by Forest Green left-back Ben Jefford.

Lindsey was sent from the dugout to the stands and then led to the changing rooms by a steward near the end of the 1-1 National League clash.

Cooper fumed: "Ben Jefford made a brilliant tackle, which Drury has taken exception to. The referee did not give a free-kick and as he is walking off the pitch, he starts shouting at Jefford and telling him what he was going to do to him. Scott told him to mind his own business and get on with the game. He then had a mouthful at Scott and Scott, for some reason, was sent to the stands.

"Tonight, it was all about the referee. It was like his stage to put on a big performance, whether he had his family here or not I don’t know. There were too many times when it was about him and not about the players, which it should be."
