Gloucestershire County League

Bishops Cleeve Reserves 2 Kingswood 1

KINGSWOOD’S great start to the season suffered a dent on Saturday as they suffered a third defeat in eight Gloucestershire County League fixtures so far this season.

Kingwood are in fourth place in the table, a far cry from the bottom place which they occupied 12 months ago, but, after Bishops Cleeve Reserves took the win, they are just one point ahead of the Bishops in the table.

And it was all the more heart-breaking because Bishops Cleeve Reserves came back from a goal down to win.

Ryan Mudd had put the visitors ahead on 40 minutes when he chested home from a corner.

Matt Magee levelled for the home side in the 60th minute, finishing off a Jamie Lock cross. Cleeve grabbed the winner in the 75th minute when Mike Davis put Elliot Pulley clear to fire home.

Now Kingswood face another huge clash on Saturday as they take on Thornbury Town at home, with the Thorns one place above them.
