IT was certainly a busy weekend for Dursley Running Club as almost 65 athletes competing in a range of events.

The weekend started with parkruns. Pete Dunn was the quickest over the weekend by finishing in 23:08mins as second MV40 at Kingsway with a personal best.

Other PBs were Jo Fearns and Veronica Higgins.

Later that day, a team of four Dursley RC athletes were in Wales to compete in the 17 mile Black Mountain Fell Race.

Along for the ride was Shona Thornhill, who had never run more than ten miles before.

With final results are yet to be published, Gareth Bradbury was first DRC athlete home in 18th place, followed by Brad Johnson, Dave Wood, Keeley Smith and Richard Smith.

Three half marathons and the Cirencester 10K took place on Sunday.

Joe Ball and Caroline Jones both ran very respectable first halves, with Annette Keevil going from Walk2Run in January 2016 to completing her first half in just over two hours.

Nicola Cowle continued her consecutive streak of personal bests.

In the junior race Luke Davis, a graduate of DRC’s summer athletic programme, came third.
