IT'S been a fantastic seven days for City with three wins from three in all competitions.

Last Wednesday City progressed to the fourth round of the League Cup for the first time since 1989 with a 2-1 win at Fulham.

City have been rewarded with a home tie against Premier League Hull City on either 24 or 25 October. The club’s players will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of their counterparts from 1989, who that year reached the semi-final stage.

We returned to Craven Cottage on Saturday with focus turning back to the league.

Fulham fans must be sick of the site of Tammy Abraham, who after giving us that late win on Wednesday night, opened the scoring on Saturday with a fine close range finish following a pin point cross from Paterson.

Fulham struck the woodwork early in the second half but after that it was one-way traffic as City took the game to their opponents and played some lovely football along the way – in fact it was a joy to watch.

Tomlin was imperious and set up Freeman for City’s second. Reid wasn’t far behind him in having a fantastic game and the Bristolian midfielder rifled home City’s third to put the result beyond doubt.

After Fulham were reduced to ten men City added a deserved fourth as Paterson put the ball on a plate for Flint who scored his first of the season from a couple of yards out.

City started where they’d left off at Fulham against Leeds United at Ashton Gate on Tuesday evening.

We pressed Leeds high up the pitch and our slick passing and movement caused them all kinds of problems, but we were unable to take our chances in the first half with Abraham having an off day.

The game tightened up in the second half but City found a way through on 59 minutes when Tomlin set up Pack who stroked the ball home to give City all three points.

Two wins and two clean sheets should give the side great confidence going into a very winnable home game on Saturday (3pm) against Nottingham Forest, who’ve yet to win on the road this season.
